
My first time at Trees in probably a decade and not much has changed other than how I’m going to procure alcohol for the night. The bar is in the same place, the balcony seems like a good idea even though I never go up there, the merch tables are right where I left them and so are the….Trees.
Its just like old times except for when I was a kid I’d go home after a show and still have my face. But last night it was a whole different story because Lightning Bolt was in town and they melted my face off. Repeatedly.

It’s FINALLY happening!
Great shows happening all over the place this weekend but Lightning Bolt is THE show of the summer so far.
If you’re wondering why I’m freaking out in such an over the top fashion….you haven’t seen Lightning Bolt!
Trust me.

I’m continually impressed with the Indie scene’s use of roots rock sounds in their new music. Today We’re going to focus on bands like Blitzen Trapper, The Black Keys, The Hold Steady, and even Dallas’ own Smile Smile to hear some of this americana/roots rock influenced indie rock!more
