This week on the Marquee we are focusing on Saturday’s epic Gorilla Vs Bear Festival which is being held at the Granada Theater. The lineup is crazy good featuring Grimes, Shabazz Palaces, Sleep Over, Pure X, Sunset, Dreamed, Julianna Barwick, DJ Sober, White Denim (interview with White Denim’s Steve Terebacki after the jump) and the live premier of Tim Delaughter’s new band Preteen Zenith.

We are presenting Slobberbone, Rodney Parker & 50 Peso Reward and Dovehunter at the Granada Theater on Saturday (GO!), the O’s are playing at Dada this weekend and Polyphonic Spree are playing at the Dallas Museum of Art tonight and it’s gonna be awesome.

The Homegrown Music And Arts Festival is back and we are getting ready for it today on the Marquee by listening to some of the bands that are playing the fest. Last year’s festival was a lot of fun and I’m really glad that they were able to organize another one for this year. Head out Saturday to Main Street Garden Park to enjoy a nice day in the sun with some fantastic bands. I’ll see you there.

This week the Marquee celebrates it’s 100th episode by not changing anything at all. Who’s playing, when they are playing, where they are playing, who they’re playing with and some songs to put it all into perspective. That’s it. Nice and simple as usual. This week we check out tracks from Fleet Foxes and the Cave Singers who are gigging the Palladium, we hear from the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion who will soon play the Cambridge Room, we tease ourselves with some Wilco and Smith Westerns even though that gig is sold out and we look ahead to the Home Grown Music and Arts Festival that takes place May 14th. Don’t forget, Pinback plays the Loft tonight but I’ll see you at Man Man and Shilpa Ray at Sons of Hermann Hall. It’s gonna be epic.

DFW’s concert schedule for next week is insanely good. The Kills, Cold Cave, Cut Copy, Foals, Holy Ghost! and Yelle at the Granada. Parade Of Flesh is bringing back NJ’s Titus Andronicus this time over at Dada with Fight Amp and locals Soviet. You’ll also be able to check out Freelance Whales, Acid Mother’s Temple and Shilpa Ray and her Happy Hookers at the Loft. If all that isn’t enough Good Records is throwing it down for Record Store Day on Saturday.
