F3F: Ra Ra Riot
By the time Ra Ra Riot hit the Orange Stage at Fun Fun Fun Fest, the crowd had grown to the point that there was at least one time zone of distance between the front and the back. Unfortunately, this didn’t do anything to help the already struggling sound system, and enjoyment of Ra Ra’s performance definitely varied by your location.
According to Honda’s latest ads, Ra Ra Riot is “the show of the decade.” Without a Civic as our guide, my perception may be a bit skewed, but I think even the title of “the show of Fun Fun Fun Fest” would be a major stretch. The music was fine (even better if you managed to strategically locate yourself where the speakers actually worked), but Ra Ra Riot didn’t seem to care about the masses of people there to see them. Compared to the next performance from M83, Ra Ra Riot just fell flat. Maybe their next show will be the one we remember.
