F3F: Asobi Seksu
Ethereal intensity are an odd combination of words but they perfectly
describe the set that Asobi Seksu started my day off with. A lot of
tiny lead singers seem to grow in size as they start singing but
Asobi’s Yuki almost seemed to shrink in an almost Alice In Wonderland
like fashion, nearly disappearing and leaving nothing but her voice
floating in the breeze. Uptempo drums kept the set from seeming too
wispy, the guitar wailing, the bass pounding.
At the end of the set Yuki jumped on drums as the drummer switched to
twisting some dials.
This isn’t a band for everyone but for those that are fans it was a great set.
